Too twee, but good experiment

I made this piece as an experiment.

The sand has folds and creases felted into it.

The sea has hand dyed silk fibres felted into it and mohair yarn.

And the sea-foam is waste silk fibres and fine wool pebbles felted.

Far too twee as an overall piece – but I love the combo of colours in the sea and the overall experiment in textures was really successful. Bringing some form into the piece. These colours make me feel happy.

Not sure what to do with the techniques yet – but good to have in the bag and to know how they work.

Certainly the waves would be better in a non-literal form. Perhaps geometric or some structured pattern.
